Hi all,
A couple of years ago a John McDonald contacted our club looking for his Brother in laws elan+2 then met up with me and the elan at Granton. It turns out that my car is the one that belonged to his Brother in law in the early seventies and he was really pleased to find the car after his long search. He had pictures of the elan and it confirms that the original colour of the car was black.
John is an avid diecast model collector and has been looking for a diecast elan+2 model. He discovered that oxford diecast were going to produce a 1:43 model in yellow, metallic blue and a burnt orange all with silver roofs. He contacted them and explained his Brother in Laws cancer battle and that his elan+2 was black, to John's surprise and delight they contacted him for more details and they have now put a black one into production complete with the registration number LEX 228H
I am really chuffed that my registration number will adorn these models.
They are selling on e-bay for around £20
Brian.
PS, gearbox will be fitted for spring 2016. I promise.
