31st May Crathes Vintage Car & Motorcycle
CRATHES VINTAGE CAR AND MOTORCYCLE RALLY 2020 CANCELLED
Banchory Rotary Club’s main charity fund-raiser of the year, the Crathes Vintage Car and Motorcycle Rally 2020, has been cancelled because of the national coronavirus emergency.
The rally, which was due to be held on May 31, regularly attracts an entry of more than 300 vintage vehicles from all over the North-east and further afield and a large number of entries have already been received for this year’s event. “No further entries can be accepted and we will contacting all those who have already entered to discuss the handling of entry fees already paid,” said event convener, Rotarian Stewart Park.
“Government restrictions impacting our club members, supporting organisations and numerous volunteers, have meant that this decision could not be avoided. A speedy decision will now allow all those impacted to take early action.”
Mr Park said the club would like to thank all vehicle entrants, stall holders and supporters for their enthusiastic support for the 2020 event, which was on track to deliver a significant reward for the club’s main charity, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.
“We wish you all a safe summer and look forward to seeing you all in 2021,” he added.

10th May Stirling and District Classic
Dear all, It is not without great disappointment that we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s show due to the uncertainties surrounding the Corona Virus outbreak.
Aside from the potential health issues that could arise from holding the show, as a club we needed to be prudent around our financial situation. It is becoming increasingly expensive to run a car show of the size of ours, with a significant level of up-front expenditure required. This outlay is recouped through entry fees on the gate, with any excess funds being donated to charity. Over the past 15 years we have been able to donate just short of £100,000 to various worthy causes.
The issue for us was that we either had to cancel before any further spend was undertaken or risk going ahead. However, the Government have now put a lock-down in place with immediate effect.
We hope that you understand that this decision was not taken lightly and we hope to see you all back in 2021.
Anyone who has paid money will receive a full refund as soon as possible.
From all our club members may we wish everyone all the very best over this difficult time.

3rd May Ayrshire Classic Car Show
Cars on the Campus 2020 – Cancelled due to Coronavirus
It will come as no surprise to you that the latest advice from the Prime Minister and our First Minister is to severely curtail social interaction in order to save lives. This will have a significant impact on our way of life for the foreseeable future.
No one has a crystal ball on this, more is the pity but what is clear is that we will not be able to run Cars on the Campus
We will be in touch with all those who have already booked in to display their vehicles and with the various groups, companies and organisations displaying indoors to confirm what most of you will have strongly anticipated.

7th June Thirlestane Castle Car Show
BVAC CLASSIC - FESTIVAL OF MOTORING, POSTPONED TILL 2021
With regret, The Borders Vintage Automobile Club has taken the decision that the club's annual Festival of Motoring due to held at Thirlestane Castle on June 7th, will be postponed until 2021. The current and developing Coronavirus situation means that it would not be viable to continue to organise and run the event at this time.
The 2021 event will take place on Sunday June 6th at Thirlestane Castle.
The team would like to thank the many clubs and entrants who have already pledged their support for the 2021 event, as well as to their lead sponsor Brewin Dolphin for their ongoing support.
